Societies have come up with some solutions to deal with problems such as hunger and poverty. However, the solutions found by capitalist society unwittingly led them to evil and selfishness. A New View of Society –Report to the Country of Lanark consists of the methods and principles that must be applied in order to overcome the arisen evils in society. Robert Owen placed social happiness over individual happiness on the basis of these principles. The author argues that social happiness can only be achieved through social equality and justice that do not based on the superiority of a particular group. In order to achieve this, he claims that the appropriate environment can be created with the education of society. Because he thinks that rational and scientific thinking cannot be developed in an uneducated society. He even argued that with education, the characters of individuals can be developed and changed in accordance with reason and science. This book review firstly will present the problems in society created by the private property, religion, and bourgeois family structure created by the capitalism and the author's solutions to these problems. Later, it will reveal the similarities and differences by comparing management understanding today's and past. Thus, it will show the source of today’s social and moral problems by examining the individual-society relations.

Bu kitap incelemesi, ilk olarak kapitalist düzenin ortaya çıkardığı özel mülkiyet, din ve burjuva aile yapısının toplumda yarattığı sorunları ve yazarın bu sorunlara karşı bulduğu çözümleri sunacaktır. Daha sonra, günümüz yönetim anlayışı ile geçmiş dönemdeki yönetim anlayışlarını kıyaslayarak benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya koyacaktır. Böylece, birey-toplum ilişkisini inceleyerek günümüzde hala var olan toplumsal ve ahlaki sorunların kaynağını göstermiş olacaktır.
