Rönesans döneminin getirdiği yeni bakış açısının görsel sanat tarihine yansıması ve modern çağa doğru gelişen sanatsal anlayış, çeşitli sanatçıların kişisel yorumlarıyla irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak insan yüzüne ait sanat eserleri, geçmişten günümüze sanat tarihini açıklarken insanlık tarihinden de ipuçları vermektedir.
