Although distance education method has become popular with education 4.0, it is known that it started with letter education. Then the distance education model, which continues via radio and television, has become professional with the invention of the internet. First, middle, high school, undergraduate and graduate education can be offered with the distance education model offered for those who cannot carry out the formal education process. In addition, distance education model is actively used in term trainings. However, all of the training provided includes theoretical topics or can offer computer based training. Therefore, the services offered by distance education were left optional. The Covid-19 outbreak at the end of 2019 started a new era in education. Due to the urgent decision of all educational institutions due to the fact that the spread of the epidemic could not be stopped, the formal education process was stopped in March 2020 and it was decided to implement a distance education model in all schools. Although this decision does not cause difficulties in the theoretical lessons of the school, it has started discussions for applied lessons, so experts are conducting research to adapt the applied lessons to the distance education model. In this research, the most important process of the Basic Design course, which has fully applied content, is to adapt the process of teaching 3d design to the distance education model. At the end of the five-week training, students were surveyed and the success of the distance education model was measured by analyzing the data obtained.

Uzaktan eğitim yöntemi eğitim 4.0 ile popüler hale gelse de çıkışı mektupla eğitimle başladığı bilinir. Ardından radyo ve televizyon aracılığıyla devam eden uzaktan eğitim modeli internetin icadıyla profesyonel hale gelmiştir. Örgün eğitim sürecini yürütemeyecek kişiler için sunulan uzaktan eğitim modeliyle ilki orta, lise, lisans ve lisansüstü eğitimler sunulabilmektedir. Ayrıca süreli eğitimlerde de uzaktan eğitim modeli aktif olarak kullanılmaktadır. Fakat verilen eğitimlerin tamamı teorik içerikli konular içermekte veya bilgisayar tabanlı eğitimleri sunabilmektedir. Bu yüzden uzaktan eğitim ile sunulan hizmetler isteğe bağlı bırakılmaktaydı. 2019 yılı sonunda yaşanan Covid-19 salgını ise eğitimde yeni bir dönemi başlattı. Tüm eğitim kurumlarının salgının yayılımının durdurulamamasından ötürü acilen aldıkları karar gereği örgün eğitim süreci 2020 Mart ayında durdurularak tüm okullarda uzaktan eğitim modeli uygulanma kararı alındı. Bu karar okulun teorik derslerinde zorluğa neden olmasa da uygulamalı dersler için tartışmaları başlatmış, bu yüzden uzmanlar uygulamalı derslerin uzaktan eğitim modeline uyarlanabilmesi için araştırmalar yapmaktadır. Bu araştırmada da tamamen uygulamalı içeriğe sahip olan Temel Tasarım dersinin en önemli süreci olan üç boyutlu tasarımı öğretebilme sürecinin uzaktan eğitim modeline uyarlanmasıdır. Beş haftalık eğitimin sonunda öğrencilere anket uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek uzaktan eğitim modelinin başarısı ölçülmüştür.
